Karen Greenberg, director of Fordham Law School’s Center on National Security, wrote an op-ed in The New York Times about potential difficulties in the peace process between Israel and Palestine.

The verdict in this case sheds light on the often delicate space occupied by the courts when it comes to diplomacy and foreign policy related to terrorism cases in which U.S. citizens are injured or killed. Usually, terrorist prosecutions are criminal cases, in which individuals are prosecuted, but this is a civil case in which a financial judgment has been made against the organization itself.
